I’m still here . . .

It’s just work, school, life and all that other stuff.

I’d rather be at home in bed right now, but that’s not going to happen any time soon.

Sigh.

Here’s a small list of things to be thankful for. I need the reminder right now.

1. I get to see some of my favorite people in the world this week.

2. I’m going to see HU’s production of Wizard of Oz on Saturday.

3. My children are wonderful and I love them with everything I have even when they make mistakes.

4. My children love me even when I make mistakes.

5. God has blessed me with phenomenal friends who encourage me in my search for connection with God and others.

6. I don’t live in California and haven’t watched my house go up in flames.

7. Lord willing, I’m going to California in the spring and will see the Pacific Ocean for the first time!

8. God made me special and he loves me very much!

Have a good day y’all. And thank you for being who you are.

When the kids get the camera

My friend Maury is a professional photographer. Check out her links over on the left. I’m very protective of my camera but I figure if she can trust her camera with her itty bitty kids, I could let mine take a whack at it every once in a while.

Emily took these pictures of the boys. Then Caleb took some pictures of Em. We did some editing and special effects with a couple of Em’s. What do you think? Does Maury have a future assistant? 🙂

Men, be warned . . .

OK — so I stole this from a friend and originally this was about menopause, but I thought most of us could relate more to this.

Q: How many women with PMS does it take to change a light bulb?

A: One! ONLY ONE! And do you know WHY? Because no one else in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb! They don’t even know that the bulb is BURNED OUT! They would sit in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it out. And, once they figured it out, they wouldn’t be able to find the stupid light bulbs despite the fact that they’ve been in the SAME CABINET for the past 17 YEARS! But if they did, by some miracle, actually find them . . . 2 DAYS LATER . . . the chair they dragged to stand on to change the STUPID light bulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE WRAPPER THE STUPID LIGHT BULBS CAME IN, BECAUSE NO ONE EVER CLEANS UP AROUND HERE OR CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE! IT’S A WONDER WE HAVEN’T ALL SUFFOCATED FROM THE PILES OF GARBAGE THAT ARE A FOOT DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE! IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS PLACE! AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON WHO CHANGES THE TOILET PAPER ROLL!

I’m sorry . . . what was the question?

A few things that make me smile

Here are some recent posts from my facebook wall. They all made me very happy and I wanted to share them.

From one of Becca’s friend who left the state for college:

So I’m sitting in my theatre class and well there’s a lady that works in the library who specializes in Theatre and Media Arts studies and I couldn’t help but to think of the awesomest “Drama Mama” in the world!

From one of our student workers right before school started:

i dont think i’ve ever quite been this excited to go to a library meeting. it is up there with ridiculously excited….

From one of my friends:

So, do you want to go in on a cow?

From a friend after discussing the Beatles:

Was/is your dad a classic rock fan? Or were you just born out of time?

Anyone who knows my dad should be laughing out loud right now.
